OPI - Steel waters run deep & Kyoto Pearl and a kitten!

A few days ago I had the opportunity to give up for adoption a little black kitten that a stray cat had given birth to in the backyard of the block of flats where I live. In case you didn't know, Greece has a huge stray animal population problem, but not enough people care to do something positive about it and those of us that do, end up being stretched to out limits. Finding a home for the little one was such an enormous stroke of luck! 

She was such a tiny little thing, barely over a month old. I felt awful for separating her from her mommy and siblings so early, but I couldn't risk letting her stay where she was. It was such a relief to see how well she got along with her new parents and how much they love her. They even picked an amazing name for her: Teto, like the little squirrel-like animal in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. 

The day her new mommy came to pick her up, she gave me some OPI nail polishes as a present. How could I not like somebody who brings me fab polishes AND takes such good care of a kitten? The funny thing is that the polishes were heavier than Teto!

The manicure of course is inspired by Teto. I wish her all the luck in the world! Now I need more luck to find homes for the rest of the kittens.

Πριν λίγες μέρες είχα την τύχη να δώσω για υιοθεσία ένα μικρό αδέσποτο γατάκι που ζούσε στην αυλή της πολυκατοικίας. 'Ενιωθα άσχημα που την χώριζα από τη μαμά της σε τόσο μικρή ηλικία, λίγο πάνω από ενός μήνα, αλλά δεν μπορούσα να ρισκάρω να την αφήσω κι άλλο εδώ. Προς μεγάλη μου ανακούφιση είναι πολύ χαρούμενη στη νέα της οικογένεια. Της έδωσαν μάλιστα και ένα υπέροχο όνομα: Τέτο, όπως το ζωάκι της Ναυσικάς της Κοιλάδας των Ανέμων!

Η μαμά της Τέτο τη μέρα που ήρθε να την πάρει μου έφερε και ένα σωρό μανό της OPI, τα οποία μάλιστα ήταν και πιο βαριά από το γατούλι. Το σημερινό μανικιούρ λοιπόν είναι αφιερωμένο στην Τέτο και τη νέα της ζωή! Μακάρι να καταφέρω να βρω τόσο καλά σπίτια και για τα τρία αδερφάκια της.

Για το μανικιούρ χρησιμοποίησα τα OPI Steel waters run deep & Kyoto Pearl, ένα μαύρο της Elixir για την στάμπα και την πλάκα drk-B της Drikk.

Teto, a week before she went to her new home

Η Τέτο μία εβδομάδα πριν πάει στο νέο της σπίτι.

OPI - Louvre me & A-England Jane Morris

OPI's Louvre me Louvre me not was wonderful on its own, but after a couple of days of wearing it on its own I got this urge to stamp it with a colour of the same shade. I chose A-England's Jane Morris and I am so happy I did. They complemented each other so perfectly! Under direct light Jane Morris, a complex holographic, shined like no other and its purple flecks glimmered, while in the shade the blue flash it has more more prominent. The plate I used is Born Pretty - 05.

I had seen a dotted tattoo like this somewhere and wanted to imitate that to show you how similar Colourpop - Zipper lipstick is to Louvre me. I love this lipstick so much, I'll review it within the next couple of weeks so watch out for it!

Αφού φόρεσα το OPI's Louvre me Louvre me not για δύο μέρες και το ευχαριστήθηκα μόνο του, ήθελα πάρα πολύ να του κάνω κάποια στάμπα σε παρόμοιο χρώμα. Διάλεξα το Jane Morris της A-England, ένα υπέροχο ολογραφικό μανό, και ταίριαξαν τόσο πολύ! 

Οι μωβ βούλες έγιναν με το κραγιόν Colourpop - Zipper για να σας δείξω πόσο μοιάζει στο μανό. Εννοείται πως τα φόραγα μαζί. Το έχω αγαπήσει τόσο αυτό το κραγιόν. Θα γράψω γι'αυτό σύντομα!

OPI - Louvre me Louvre me not

OPI's Louvre me Louvre me not polish was first presented with the fall 2008 France collection, but has since been made permanent-much to my rejoice! It is a reddish purple with magenta shimmer that the camera picks up as blue - could it be a subtle duochrome?

It's a little bit more watery than most OPI polishes which is why I needed to do three layers. I had balding spots with only two which the camera picked up more intense than they were.

I'm in such a purple mood! Though I love the colour, I didn't like completely enjoy wearing purples, but now it's the colour I want all the time. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am more tanned now than I have ever been. I will ride this wave of purples for as long as I feel like it!

To Louvre me Louvre me not της OPI το είδαμε πρώτη φορά στη φθινοπωρινή συλλογή France του 2008 και από τότε έχει μπει στη μόνιμη συλλογή. Είναι ένα πορφυρό μωβ με φουξί γυαλάδα την οποία η κάμερα δείχνει μπλε-μήπως είναι duo και δεν το έχω πάρει είδηση; 

Είναι πιο αραιό από τα περισσότερα μανό της OPI, γι'αυτό και χρειάστηκε να το περάσω τρεις φορές αλλιώς φαινόταν με κενά στις φωτογραφίες. Είναι πάρα πολύ όμορφο χρώμα και θα το φορέσω αρκετά, όπως και άλλα μωβ που έχω γιατί τώρα που έχω μαυρίσει λιγάκι μου αρέσουν καλύτερα επάνω μου.
