Elyssian Beauty Blog: Rimmel Provocalips 16H Kiss Proof Colour & Comparison

Imagine the end of the world is here. There’s earthquakes, storms, fires, explosions, aliens, Cthulu; everything that Hollywood has taught us an apocalypse would be like. You want to face the end of all things looking fab and you want your lipstick to last all the way into the chaos of a post-apocalyptic world. Is there a lipstick that could withstand all this? Why… yes there is: Rimmel’s Provocalips 16H Kiss Proof Colour.

It’s a 2 in 1 product where on the one end you get 4ml of the matte liquid lipstick (Step 1: Intense colour) and on the other end (Step 2:lock & shine)you get 3ml of a hydrating product that has the texture of Vaseline and smells like a mango lipbalm I had many years ago. You can apply the step 2 product as many times as you like after the lipstick has dried. I don’t understand why they call in a “lock&shine”, as it doesn’t assist the lipstick in drying or staying on, it just gives a bit of shine in case you don’t like the total matte lips look.

They come in 8 colours so far of which I have 3 to show you today:

· 500 Kiss Me You Fool: a bright blue red, the brightest in the collection. Makes your teeth and the whites of your eyes look super white.

· 550 Play With Fire: a neutral mid-tone red.

· 730 Make Your Move: a warm brown –it was too yellow toned for me unfortunately so I have since given it away. It’s the closest to a“nude” in this collection.

They are the longest-lasting liquid lipsticks I own and even when eating an oily meal, you don’t lose that much colour on the inner rim of the lip. When I say they would last beyond the end of the world I really mean it. I don’t know of any others that are quite as long lasting as the Provocalips.

The downside to them being so long lasting is that they are very drying. The fact that they are the only matte liquid lipstick that comes with a hydrating product should clue you in. The hydrating product is a necessity for me, otherwise it feels like the longer I have it on, the more the lipstick is sucking the life out of my lips. Also don’t even think of re-applying it, it’s one of the matte liquids that becomes an uncomfortable crumbly mess if you make the mistake to re-apply it.

All in all, I can’t say I really like them. Yes, they do last forever, but that also means that it takes forever to take them off. If I don’t put an an olive-oil soaked cotton pad on my lips for a few minutes, the lipstick will not budge. What I really don’t like though is the way my lips feel even after I’ve removed it as it takes them about a day to feel normal and hydrated again. If you don’t mind the dryness and want a lipstick to get through the apoca-lips(is this the worst pun ever?) with, this is the product for you.

Θέλετε να είστε fabulous για να αντιμετωπίσετε το τέλος και θέλετε το κραγιόν σαν να αντέξει το μεταποκαλυπτικό χάος. Υπάρχει κραγιόν που θα άντεχε τόσο πολύ; Και όμως υπάρχει: το Rimmel Provocalips 16H Kiss Proof Colour.

Στη συσκευασία έχει δύο προϊόντα, από τη μία μεριά έχει 4ml υγρό ματ κραγιόν(Step 1: Intense colour) ενώ από την άλλη έχει 3ml ενυδατικού προϊόντος(Step 2:lock & shine) το οποίο έχει υφή βαζελίνης και μυρίζει σαν ένα liposan μάνγκο που είχα. Το 2^ο προϊόν το βάζετε αν θέλετε αφού στεγνώσει το κραγιόν για ενυδάτωση και για μία ελαφριά γυαλάδα στα χείλη, δεν επηρεάζει το πόσο και αν θα μείνει σταθερό το κραγιόν. Βγαίνει σε 8 αποχρώσεις εκ των οποίων θα σας δείξω τις 3 σήμερα.

· 500 Kiss Me You Fool: ζωηρό ψυχρό κόκκινο, κάνει τα δόντια και το λευκό των ματιών να λάμπουν.

· 550 Play With Fire: ουδέτερο κόκκινο με λίγο καφέ μέσα.

· 730 Make Your Move: “nude” που καφετίζει. Ήταν πολύ θερμό για’μένα οπότε του βρήκα καλύτερο σπίτι.

Όσον αφορά τη διάρκεια με δυσκολία θα βρείτε πιο ανθεκτικό κραγιόν. Ακόμα και μετά από λιπαρό γεύμα φεύγει πολύ λίγο από την εσωτερική πλευρά των χειλιών. Κανένα άλλο κραγιόν που έχω δεν αντέχει τόσο πολύ και τόσο καλά.

Το αρνητικό τους όμως είναι πως ξεραίνουν πάρα πολύ τα χείλη. Το ότι είναι το μόνο υγρό ματ κραγιόν που έρχεται παρέα με ενυδατικό προϊόν είναι μία σαφής ένδειξη του πόσο μπορεί να ξεράνει τα χείλη. Ακόμα και με αυτό όμως δεν νιώθω ποτέ απόλυτα άνετα όταν τα φοράω. Επίσης δεν μπορείς να προσθέσεις και δεύτερη στρώση αργότερα αν σου έχει φύγει από μέσα γιατί γίνεται χάλια με τον τρόπο που μόνο τα υγρά ματ κραγιόν μπορούν να γίνουν, αυτό που σε άλλη ανάρτηση είχα περιγράψει ως τσιμέντο που σπάει.

Γενικά δεν μπορώ να πω πως μου αρέσει να τα χρησιμοποιώ. Μπορεί να κρατάνε άπειρες ώρες, αλλά χρειάζεται να κάθομαι με ένα βαμβάκι ποτισμένο με ελαιόλαδο πάνω στα χείλη για πολλή ώρα προκειμένου να τα αφαιρέσω κι αυτό δεν είναι το πιο ενοχλητικό χαρακτηριστικό τους. Το πόσο ξερά αισθάνομαι τα χείλη μου καθ’όλη τη διάρκεια που τα φοράω αλλά και η αίσθηση που μου αφήνουν για μία περίπου μέρα αφού το έχω φορέσει δεν μ’αρέσει καθόλου. Αν η ξηρότητα των liquid matte lipsticks δεν σας ενοχλεί και θέλετε τη μέγιστη διάρκεια από το κραγιόν σας, τότε τα Provocalips ίσως είναι για εσάς.
